Special Olympics is needed to offer athletes an opportunity to develop physical fitness in a social setting. Not only do the athletes gain from this, but the community does as well.

Opportunities are created for public awareness of disabilities due to the gathering places like schools and parks.

Due to most athletes’ limited income our funding goal is to cover all expenses including competition fees, food, lodging, and transportation to all area, district, and state events. We also provide uniforms and sporting equipment.

We now offer 12 sporting events throughout the year. Last year we added swimming and the YAP program, which is for Young Athletes between the ages of 2 thru 7. This year we have an interest in flag football.
